SlåttdalsskrevanThe impressive, almost monumental, Slåttdalsskrevan is in the centre of Skuleskogen National Park in the High Coast. It is about 100 metres long and has a maximum depth of 30 metres. This crack or, more accurately, ravine, was formed due to the weathering of a diabase dyke that was about seven metres wide. Remains of the diabase can be seen at the bottom of the ravine; it has an internal structure that makes it particularly susceptible to weathering. The surrounding rock, i.e. the ravine´s walls, is red Nordingrå granite. The highest point of the walking trail through Skuleskogen passes through the ravine. ![]()
