Salusand - Stavarhall
Salusand is probably most famous for as a bathing beach. There is a wonderful sandy beach to sunbathe on, but also to study! Active sand dune formation takes place here.
A geology path starts here, passing through the area by Stavarhallen. This is the northernmost part of Ångermanland´s high coast. Diabase has forced its way into small cracks in the dominant metagreywacke. These cracks have abraded and caves have been formed. Other abrasion formations can also be seen here, such as a “höna" (chicken).
